Life for Sam Milby has drastically changed. From being a mere contender in the reality show "Pinoy Big Brother," the 21-year-old Fil-Am looker seems to be everywhere these days -- on TV shows, sitcoms and commercials.
The unassuming Sam admits he is still as dazed as he was when he got out of the reality show after a 49-day stay.
"I really didn’t have any idea what I was auditioning for at first, I never watched Big Brother so I never heard of it until that time," he recounts. "I never expected it was going to be this big. Everything just happened so fast."
And indeed it had. Not only did Sam earn the hearts of hundreds of fans (hence his "crush-ng-bayan" status), but he also found himself filled with bookings that leave him no time at all to relax. "My schedule is killing me," he says, "but I’m not complaining."
Besides his good looks and a killer smile that clinched him a toothpaste commercial, Sam’s many good points extends to his simple sense of style. "I’m just your typical shirts and jeans kind of guy. Now that I’m on the go most of the time I wear rubber shoes," he says, pointing to the pair of GBX he’s wearing.
His style may be simple, but Sam’s personality adds a twist to whatever he wears. "I gave all my pairs of jeans a trademark of my own; I slashed them a bit on the bottom sides so they would flare on my ankles. I’m a size 11, so it covers up my big feet," he explains, showing his torn jeans.
Of course, the ultimate accessory from this music lover could only be his guitar. "It’s my signature prop," he says, strumming the chords of the song "Magmahal Muli," which he composed inside the Big brother House and which surprisingly became an overnight hit.
In the following days, Sam looks ahead to a vibrant show-biz career. He said he is open to possibilities, but for the meantime he will enjoy his guitar and his music. On Sundays, Sam graces the ASAP segment "Sam Sessions." He is also preparing for an upcoming album, the PBB ex-housemates drama series and his highly anticipated debut to the movies. Of course, he will handle all of these with an easy stride, killer smile and trusty shoes.
