I don't know the original source for this article but this is Pablo's post from TheJokersupdates International BB forum

http://www.jokersupdates.com/ubbthreads ... 1081757577

I have jested in the past about a BB style show on a Space Station but this goes much further. And the Russians appear to be serious. I can see some interesting technical issues regarding live television. Having seen some amazing high quality live recording made during the Apollo 11 mission way back in 1969 on the way to and in orbit around the moon even then 250000 miles worked well but we are talking many times this distance.
Will be interesting to see if anything happens.

Hi Larry

How are you?

Waow...what will they think of next!!! How many contestants would there be, do you know? Would be interesting to see how they would deal with the eviction process! ::lol::

Fine here thanks ,just got in from work.
NASA as you would expect says it's a joke.
I think rather than evictions it would control who would go down to Mars.
Yes there are more questions than answers ,but if they progress towards this idea then will NASA just sit back and laugh or will they do something similar to save face rather than let the Russians be the first to Mars.

Signals back from Mars will be the fun part. I've heard recordings from Mars Express received using fairly simple equipment so with a real ground station video should be possible ,but like with the search for Beagle 2 there are limitations on who and when reception is possible.

 NASA arrogant........surely not!!

However, having visited NASA years ago, I could see where their arrogance would stems from. The place is awesome. Was transfixed for days whilst there, and talked about it for weeks afterwards. Still to this day, it's one of my life's highlights. ()^

One thing I know is that when it came to looking for contestants....there would be only one answer from me......"a definite YES, put me forward". Would bite their hands off it they went ahead with such a project. Even the training for such a competition would be great fun, and very enlightening. What an experience!!

If the talks came to fruition and they decided to go ahead, would you apply for this BB competition?

You lucky thing. I'd love to spend a couple of weeks at the space center.
My younger brother went there while over there but he has little interest in the subject and didn't find it that interesting.

If I thought I'd stand a chance of passing the medical I'd be the first one to apply but the legacy of a couple of motorbike crashes might go against me.

I'll keep an eye open of updates.

That would be brill to be kept up-to-date with this. I'd def give it a go. From recollection, Mars has a greater force of gravity than earth, am I right? Whatever it is anyway, it must be a really weird experience to be lighter/ heavier than normal.

::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol:: Can do the latter easily on earth, but lighter: would be a good experience.
