THE 12 TEENAGERS SELECTED FOR "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition" ("PBBTE") are a telegenic, combustible bunch, ready to wage war in the name of conformity or individuality.
Coming from backgrounds both socially and geographically diverse, each teen contestant is now out to win one million pesos cash, a condo unit, and other prizes, using strategies learned from the two previous seasons of the phenomenal fish bowl reality show.

3 teens named in first Big Brother nomination night

Three teen housemates were nominated Sunday night for the first eviction this week.

Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition host Mariel Rodriguez announced that Olyn, the teen star wannabe of Quezon City; Mikki, the astig (tough) from Davao; and Nina, the girl from Makati are candidates the first eviction night on May 6.

Last Saturday Aldred voluntarily left the Big Brother House after only a week-long stay with his fellow teen housemates.

Since his first day at the house he had adjustment difficulties, which he failed to resolve.

Big Brother will pick another teener to replace Aldred.

A taekwondo jin, a hunk and a confessed playboy is the new addition to the 11 remaining teenage housemates after Pasay's bet Aldred Gatchalian voluntarily left Big Brother's house Saturday.

Big Brother on Monday night welcomed Joaquin Bustamante, 17, to replace Aldred who quit because he could not relate to his housemates. He also admitted he had difficulty adjusting to life inside the house.

Joaquin said he is excited to live in Big Brother's house although he would miss his family.

Admitting that he is a lady's man, the new housemate from Parañaque said he had five serious relationships and 25 flings. "Let's just say I'm extra-friendly," Joaquin said.

When asked who his crush in the house is, Joaquin or Joaqui said he has yet to know the girl housemates. "Maybe in two days I can answer that question."

A few love teams seem to be developing inside the house lately.

Some housemates started teasing Kim Chiu and Ateneo scholar Mikee Lee as the two have shown interest in music. Mikee plays the guitar and Kim last week started her unofficial singing career by crooning a traditional Chinese song. Mikee was also seen teaching Kim how to strum a guitar.

Olyn Membian and Matt Evans were also quite a pair. Some housemates cannot resist kidding the pair because Matt always teases Olyn. Kim surmised Matt has a crush on Membina, the teenstar wannabe from Quezon City. Matt played it cool and begged them to stop picking on Olyn.

Fred Payawan and Niña Atienza were also getting along well. Niña, the perceived well-heeled girl from Makati, admitted her crush on Fred, the perfectionist hunk from Parañaque. The group was in the living room while the gang was teasing the two. Fred flashed a big smile as Bam Romana, who earlier admitted that he was falling for Niña, started teasing the girl.

Labor Day for Pinoy Big Brother teen housemates meant trying their hands at various work skills on Monday and passing practical tests from Big Brother on Tuesday.

"Pinupuri ko ang inyong pasensiya sa pakikinig sa mga nagturo sa inyo. Nakita ko rin ang sipag at hirap n'yo na tapusin [ang trabaho] bagama’t mayroon kayong pagkakamali (I admire your patience for listening to the people who taught you various skills. I saw your perseverance to finish the tasks although you made some mistakes)," Big Brother, who can only be heard but not seen, told the housemates.

"Ang mahalaga ay may natutunan kayong aral at naranasan ninyo ang hirap sa paghahanapbuhay ng ating mga kababayan… Pasado kayo (What's important is that you've learned something and you've experienced the hardships that most of our countrymen go through as they do their jobs... You passed the tests!" the house's boss added.

Mikki Arceo, Niña Atienza and Olyn Membian, who were earlier taught to mix cement as construction workers do, were able to apply the mix to hold several concrete blocks together in the garden.

The next group, composed of Mikee Lee, Clare Cabiguin and Bam Romana, were tasked to make simple floral arrangements and they also had Big Brother's nod for making lovely flower ensembles.

Cleaning fish was no mean task for Matt Evans, Fred Payawan and Gerald Anderson but they finished cleaning not just the required six fish but 10 slimy bangus.

Jamilla Obispo and Kim Chiu also passed the haircut test, which required them to give a decent haircut to one of the housemates. Matt, who sports curly hair style, volunteered to have his hair cropped. Jamilla and Kim successfully trimmed Matt's tresses.

For their patience at learning the skills, Big Brother let the 12 housemates watch the Pinoy Big Brother Teen edition launch, which they enjoyed with pop corn.

After 10 days of accomplished tasks, violations, penalties and fun, Michelle Marie "Mikki" Arceo from Davao was first to leave the Big Brother's house on Wednesday night.

Mikki, described as the "Orig na Astig ng Davao" ( the tough girl from Davao), got the lowest votes with 25.48 percent while fellow nominees for eviction Nina Atienza got 42.3 percent and Olyn Membian, 31.3 percent.

The 18-year-old gal has lived up to her monicker even during the eviction night as she held back her tears. “Please don’t make me cry. I don’t want to cry,” she begged her teen housemates.

She encouraged other teens to show their true colors no matter what happens. “Sana nakita n'yo na it pays to stay true to yourself (I hope you realized that it pays to stay true to yourself),” she said.

Despite her assertiveness and no-nonsense attitude, Mikki had shown that she has a soft spot for her housemates too. On Tuesday night she volunteered to take the place of Bam Romana who was punished not to speak. Bam refused but thanked Mikki for her offer.

Mikki once clashed with teenstar wannabe Olyn Membian on their second day in the house. Olyn struck the wrong chord with Mikki when she called the tough girl's father good for nothing for leaving his family. Since then the two have not related to each other.

With Mikki's eviction, Niña and Olyn were left nominated for eviction on Friday.

Mikki received a Pinoy Big Brother merchandise showcase, Promac appliances, gift certificate for two to Boracay courtesy of Sea Air in cooperation with NAITAS, franchise of Everything Online Internet Plus powered by Red Fox and a four-year scholarship grant from AMA Educational System as her prize for being PBB Teen Edition’s first evictee.

Sunday was a day for super powers in Pinoy Big Brother's house as the boss welcomed a new housemate. Later in the night four housemates were nominated for eviction.

All the housemates were clad in super heroes garb like Wonder Woman, Panday, Volta and other characters while hosts Mariel Rodriguez wore an Elektra costume and Bianca Gonzalez, a Supergirl costume.

The nominees for this week's eviction are Fred Payawan, Joaquin Bustamante, Clare Cabiguin and Jamilla Obispo. Payawan and Bustamante were formerly candidates for forced eviction while Cabiguin and Obispo were never nominated before.

The teenage housemates also welcomed new housemate Brenda from Olongapo City to replace evicted housemate Bam Romana.

Brenda, half-Filipino and half-American, said she knows life is tough but she will try to live a life that she can be proud of. Brenda said her mother decided to keep her even if her American father wanted to abort her so life's hardships were not new to her.

"I'll just simply be myself," Brenda said when asked about her plans inside Pinoy Big Brother's house. Brenda won the Miss Zambales Tourism plum last week.

Big Brother, meanwhile, praised Kim Chiu, Mikee Lee, Olyn Membian, Gerald and Matt Evans for not being nominated for eviction Sunday.

Of the nominees for eviction, Joaquin got 14 nominations or the highest number of nominations from his housemates. They cited his seeming insensitivity when dealing with some of the housemates. They also said he broke many house rules.

Those nominated for eviction appealed to their family, friends and viewers to support them so they could stay a bit longer in the house.

Not so fierce creatures, including a pot bellied pig and a few boa constrictors, visited the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition housemates on Sunday.

Big Brother instructed the teens to change into their swimming clothes and told them that they were going to swim with some guests. Little did they know that they would be swimming with animals that were brought into the house by Animal Patrol host Kim Atienza and some veterinarians.

Among the housemates Olyn Membian, Jamilla Obispo, Clare Cabiguin and Gerald Anderson were the most afraid of the animals, especially the snakes.

Gerald maintained his distance from the snakes as the animals slithered their way to the garden. "It's OK, I have a good view from here," he told Kuya Kim who was introducing the various kinds of snakes.

Big Brother then asked Kuya Kim to help the housemates conquer their fear.

Asked why they fear animals, Olyn said she got a scar on her face from a cat scratch. Clare shared that she saw two snakes in their store. Jamilla and Gerald said they were not used to handling snakes.

All four housemates, however, were successful in conquering their fears and touching the snakes.

Earlier Clare from Davao, who loves to belt out jukebox hits, was given a special task -- to sing for her housemates so they would not fall asleep.

Clare sang to her heart's content her idol Imelda Papin's hits but to no avail.

She later donned a fuschia gown and gave impromptu concert during lunchtime, to her housemates' delight.

Housemates in the "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition" all geared for physical challenges on the episode shown Wednesday as their daily tasks continued. The first order of the day: hula hooping.

Each housemate was asked to hula hoop while fellow housemates played Tangrams, a puzzle solving activity that requires players' creativity and imagination to imitate the various figures shown before them.

Big Brother's basic rule was that the girls are to use their waist and the boys their arms in hula hooping.

When a housemate could no longer continue spinning the hoop, another housemate should start spinning his own hoop before the first housemate can stop. This forced the substitute hoop players to be alert in doing their turn.

Housemate Mikee Lee, meanwhile, stood out in the puzzle game for successfully imitating two different figures for 40 minutes.

The next task proved more difficult -- the "Akyat Lubid" task. The activity required the housemates to climb a series of rope obstacles while getting clues to open the combination lock of a big clear box that contained rewards for all of them.

The number of housemates able to complete the whole rope course will determine the number of crates they could use to collect more clues that can help them open the clear box that was suspended a few feet above the garden.

Gerald Anderson was the first to climb among the boys while Brenda Fox courageously volunteered to be the first from the girls' team.

"Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition" housemates got a taste of life in the wild in an episode aired Thursday as they were turned into the famous jungle characters Tarzan and Jane.

Thrilled by the jungle costumes they found in the storage room, the teen housemates donned animal print clothes and got ready for the "You Jane, Me Tarzan" task.

Forming two groups with five members each, the housemates were told to swing from rope to rope ala Tarzan and Jane at the garden, which was transformed into a jungle.

Fifteen ropes were set up but the girls only had to swing through eight ropes.

After several attempts, not one housemate was able to carry out the task.

To motivate the housemates, Big Brother offered a wristwatch as prize to anyone who could complete the Tarzan/Jane swing.

All gave up, however, except for perfectionist hunk Fred Payawan. The other teens rallied behind Fred as he struggled to finish the task.

Upon returning to the house, the housemates were surprised to find a "gorilla" in the living room. The housemates played with their hairy visitor and even danced with him when Big Brother played the music "Don Romantico."

Filipino American Gerard later guessed correctly that the actor wearing the gorilla costume was none other than teen heartthrob Joross Gamboa.

Matthew Evans and Olyn Therese Membian became the latest housemates to step out of Pinoy Big Brother house during Saturday’s fourth eviction night, leaving six teenagers inside to vie for the top spot.

For happy-go-lucky Matt, who got the second lowest number of votes at 32 percent, his eviction meant a chance for him to start looking for his biological father.

His American father left Matt and his family when he was just eight months old. Before entering the PBB house, Matt expressed a desire to meet his father even though his stepfather treats him like a real son.

Meanwhile, teenstar wannabe Olyn was overwhelmed with the number of people waiting outside the house to greet and see them.

"Salamat sa pagsuporta niyo sa amin at sa pagpunta n'yo dito," she said.

Olyn got the lowest number of votes at 18.8 percent.

Meanwhile, Michael Vincent "Mikee" Lee was saved and became the sixth housemate to remain inside the house. He got 49.2 percent of the votes.

Mikee will join Brenda Fox, Clare Cabiguin, Gerald Anderson, Jamilla Natalie Obispo and Kimberly Sue "Kim" Chiu for the remaining weeks before the public chooses the winner among them.

Also at the house, Big Brother pulled a surprise when he announced an end to the housemates' "pass-the-smile" task to help Jamilla’s baby, Miggy. The task was meant for the baby's cleft palate operation.

Big Brother said a team of doctors from St. Luke’s Medical Center will perform the operation on Miggy. A teary-eyed Jamilla thanked her housemates for their sacrifice and the doctors and Big Brother for the help.

In addition, two more children with cleft palate will benefit from the housemates' sacrifice.

The nominations on May 14 was the last for this edition. Voting for the big winner officially started Saturday.

Evicted housemates Matthew Evans and Olyn Therese Membian denied Sunday a romance had developed between them while inside Pinoy Big Brother's house.

The two left PBB house during the fourth eviction night Saturday. Olyn got the lowest number of votes (18.8 percent) while Matt got the second lowest number of votes (32 percent).

The two told "The Buzz" Sunday they are just friends and nothing more.

Olyn, however, admitted she is physically attracted to Matt and Filipino American Gerald Anderson.

She added Matt is kind, and that makes her feel more comfortable with him than any other guys in the house.

Her squabble with erstwhile housemate Mikki Arceo shocked other teens in PBB's house.

Olyn said they are both on good terms now and their friendship will not fade away. When Olyn stepped out of the house Saturday night, she met Mikki. They talked and apologized to each other.

"I know that I have faults but she also has," Olyn said in Filipino.

For Matt, his eviction from PBB's house marked the start of a mission to look for his American father.

"Madami akong sasabihin sa kanya, unang-una po pagmamalaki ko sa kanya na eto na po ako, ganito na po ako kalaki. Kahit na iniwanan n'ya po kami yung mama ko po hindi po siya nagkulang sa pagpapalaki sa akin. Nag-aral po ako at nakapagtapos ng high school (I have a lot to tell him. First I will tell him that I have grown up and although he had left us my mother brought me up. I went to school and finished high school) " Matt said.

He added he is not mad at his dad.

Meanwhile, Matt and Olyn were both happy and excited to enter college. AMA Computer has offered them scholarship after they have been evicted.

For teenstar-wannabe Olyn, she said she will take a nursing course.

'Big 4' known as Jamilla, Brenda leave PBB house

Pinoy Big Brother's " Big 4" was finally known Saturday night as Jamilla Natalie Obispo and Brenda Fox left the house after receiving the least percentage of votes from viewers.

Jamilla garnered 12.7 percent of the votes while Brenda got 8.4.

"Thank you for the support. Keep on supporting the big four," Brenda said as she emerged from the house to meet hosts Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzales.

An ecstatic Jamilla said she learned a lot during her PBB stay.

She, however, is also excited at the thought of finally seeing her family. "Gusto ko na talagang makita ang family ko(I want to see my family)," the young mother said.

With the girls' departure, Kimberly Sue "Kim" Chiu, Michael Vincent "Mikee" Lee, Clarides "Claire" Cabiguin and Gerald Anderson became the remaining housemates who will compete for the top prize for next Saturday's big night.

Kim is PBB Teen’s big winner

---------------------------------- Image

Kimberly Sue "Kim" Chiu of Cebu won the hearts of thousands of viewers after garnering the highest votes to become Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition’s big winner Saturday night.

Chiu, 16, got 41.4 percent, or 626,562 votes, beating the other three teen housemates at the climax of the show’s third season.

With PBB’s fairy tale theme, she emerged in a princess-like dress and flashed a smile at her family and fans waiting at the packed Aliw Theater in Pasay City. She won P4 million worth of prizes.

"Thank you [for your trust and support]," said Chiu.

Chiu was the earlier favorite to win the top prize. Even her former teen housemates were rooting for her.

"Kim has a good personality," Frederico "Fred" Payawan said.

Michael Vincent "Mikee" Lee was PBB’s was second place ( 20.7 percent of votes), followed by Gerald Anderson (19.4 percent) and Clarides "Clare" Cabiguin (18.5 percent).
Chiu, along with other 13 housemates, stayed inside big brother’s house for more than 40 days.
