Wow don't Americans like over dramatising things !

It's very true that the age of the viewing audience is very young these days but to says that children give BJs like giving a goodnight kiss is absurd as a result of watching programs like BB. If the US has a problem with this happening they should look to educate better rather than blaming every TV show they don't like.

These days a large proportion of children ,from an early age ,have their own TV ,VCRs ,DVD Players , PCs ,and Internet. They learn to operate the equipment better than the parents well before entering Junior school. Sending a child to bed at 8 or 9 in the evening no-longer guarantees that they are not watching something on TV meant for a much older audience. Some parents will check-up to see what they are doing but who's to say they don't hear them coming changing channel or switching the TV off and then returning to what every they were watching before after the parent has returned to the living room.

Download programs also make it very easy for a child to get hold of porn. Give a teenage lad unsupervised access to the Internet in his room and you'd be amazed how many start their curiosity for the adult material.

But getting back to the BB theme ,the US weren't the only one in resent times to complain about adult content. Remember the goings on in OZ. Uncut was rated MA - Mature Adult and advertised as containing adult material and moved to a late time slot but still a lot of the adults that saw it weren't mature enough to change channel or switch the TV off when they didn't like the program in front of them and then complaining. The website also introduced an upper age setting for the more adult coverage to try and prevent the younger viewers getting access but still after all the trouble that came about the Uncut show was pulled and no show was broadcast Live giving the show the chance to remove everything that might offend the section of the audience that complained.

But when you look at the eviction audience in other countries they make it a family event and hold costume competitions for the children. This country has gone the other way creating an atmosphere which all but the hardened fan would want to be apart of.

If you create a culture were a young person can do what every they want knowing that they can't be corrected for doing wrong and making access to the various forms of media easier and easier then they will see and hear things that aren't meant for the age group .Some will go on the copy what they say and hear both the bad stuff and the good stuff but some of the copying will be due to curiosity .I wonder have many would ask a parent to explain something they saw or heard rather than a friend ?

Times are changing and in many ways for the worst but it's the whole picture that needs addressing not just one or two bits.
