CONTROVERSIAL soccer veteran Lee Chapman is to star in the next series of Celebrity Big Brother.
The former Leeds United striker, who has denied repeated accusations of violence towards his actress wife Leslie Ash, has agreed in principle to take part in the show to be shown in the New Year.
Friends persuaded Chapman, 44, that appearing on the hit show would be a good way for the public to see his true character. One said: "Lee has always denied that he has ever hit Leslie and sees this as a chance to nail the ugly rumours once and for all. People will realise he's not the brutish character he's so often painted as." Lee and Leslie both strongly deny claims that he has ever attacked her.
Other celebs lined up for the new series include glamour model Victoria Silvstedt, kiss-and-tell girl Alicia Douvall and TV sports presenter turned religious weirdo David Icke.
