Day 7 of 18, 22:00
Wednesday 12 January
CH4
The housemates have been all smiles since discovering that their reward for passing an earlier task was a fabulous feast of gorgeous grub and fine wines.
After being holed up in the bedroom while Big Brother prepared the extravaganza, the housemates could barely believe their eyes as they emerged to discover a velvet table cloth laden with delicious food.
The gastronomic delight had been well earned in the earlier Wheel of Misfortune task, whereby the housemates had to earn shots of spirits or liquor by answering general knowledge questions correctly, or get a taste of something foul if they got it wrong.
"Bring it on," shouted an animated John, clearly still hungry after the measly pasta meal the housemates had earlier eaten.
And bring it on Big Brother did. The table was set, the glasses polished, and the flowers positioned, followed by a main course of salmon, guinea fowl and veggie quiche with more than enough wine to wash it down.
"Oooooh darlings we're having a dinner party," shrieked Lisa when she re-entered the room.
"This is what we are supposed to eat every day," added Jackie matter-of-factly.
Occasional grunts of appreciation broke the silence as the hungry housemates tucked in.
But no one was happier than John, who spent every spare second between mouthfuls praising their kind benefactor.
"Long live Big Brother," he announced raising his glass. "He's a splendid gentleman."
