Jack Dee is planning to spend hours balancing on top of a 50ft pole despite suffering from vertigo.
The comic will perform the David Blaine-style stunt live on TV to raise cash for Comic Relief.
He will stand on a 2ft-wide platform and be sponsored for every hour he stays up the pole in White City, West London.
Jack said: "Someone's decided it's amusing for me to be in unpleasant situations -and they'll pay good money to see it happen," reports The Sun.
A Comic Relief spokeswoman added: "Jack is genuinely scared of heights so this will be a real ordeal for him."
The stunt will take place Red Nose Day, March 14.
