....though, quite clearly, you choose, not to respect the strength of character, of John Mc Cririck, or respect his right, to stand up, for what he believes in

That'll be because his 'principles' go against what most of us call humanity. He's homophobic, he goes badger baiting, loves fox-hunting, he's sexist and has Dubya listed as his all time hero - so forgive me for not fainting in admiration....

I will agree though that he deserves a tiny bit of respect for being willing to say these deplorable things in public....but the difference is that Germaine is famous for having a strong, well thought-out opinion on something whereas John shows complete and utter igborance nearly every time he opens his mouth! :8o:

I bet he has never seen a fox or a badger, let alone hunted or baited them, if you think Greer has always been famous for her well thought out opinions, then think again, she *used* to be hated by women as well as men when she first started her rantings, it is only the last 20 years or so that she has mellowed and actually become more rational and more thoughtful. ()^

When she first started NOBODY but her was allowed an opinion. :-?

John is fantastic. He's a true British eccentric. I think a lot of his talk is nothing more than posturing - he KNOWS he's winding people up and he's enjoying doing so.

Germaine is also fantastic - I completely admire anyone who ploughs their own row like she does.

Having both of them in the same house is a stroke of pure genius IMO.

Well why boast about it then? Just shows what an attention seeking so and so he is to latch onto something as disgusting as that to gain noteriety.

Where would he draw the line?

I don't care who it is, to condone revolting animal abuse is sickening.

I see the irony-deficiency on this forum shows no signs of abating.

Haven't been around for a while - although following CBB closely of course.

Couldn't resist commenting when I read taffysteve's comments about Kenzie working in a wimpy...

I remember many years ago when a friend of mine was an assistant manager in a wimpy restaurant, and had to wear the big 'it's a knockout stylee' MR WIMPY beefeater outfit thingy....

Remember that Steve? Wish I had a photo to prove it :D [/quote]

Hop along then :-? JM doesn't wind me up atall. Anyone can be vocal about controversial rubbish to gain notoriety and "shock" the great British public. It's very very easy and pretty sad.

Tonight's programme really showed him up for what he is. A 12 year old stuck in a 60something's body.

If I was his partner I would be ashamed about how he was showing himself up as a person :-? he is just SO rude but I guess he is of the thinking that any publicity is good publicity :-?

If the kid in there acted like JM he would get slated. But JM is, of course, a "great" British eccentric so can get away with sitting in a huff because he couldn't get some diet coke.

I (believe it or not) agree with you, I don't have the answers, except as you already said, he is an attention seeking so and so, but really, could you see him atop of a horse galloping around the English countryside, nahh I can't either, he has to lie down for a rest after walking from the seating area to the diary room
