NEWLY married MP for Bradford West George Galloway never divorced his third wife Rimi Husseini, the Sun claims. Galloway married fourth wife Putri Gayatri Pertiwi two days after his shock by-election win last week. Husseini admits Galloway has done nothing illegal, as she married him under Islamic law which isn't legally binding in Britain. But, she says, the MP is behind the times. "There's a misconception you can have up to four wives in Islam, but it's not true. It may have been hundreds and hundreds of years ago, when men were going to war and being killed - but it doesn't exist now." Under Islamic law, she insists, the couple remain married. "He hasn't done anything illegal, but morally it's a different story."

George Galloway frees Celebrity Big Brother housemate Pete Burns from police cell

George Galloway’s notorious appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, in which he got down on all fours while licking pretend “milk” from Rula Lenska’s hand, has led to some lasting friendships.

The unlikely new MP for Bradford West says he helped his fellow former housemate, the transvestite pop singer Pete Burns, during his recent travails.

“I got him out of jail,” he says. “I had to go to a police station and pay a sum of money, of surety, to get him out of the cells.”

Burns’s spokesman confirms that “George did indeed help Pete”, but describes the incident as a “storm in a tea cup”. He says: “Pete was never, actually, charged with anything — just a silly 'breach of the peace’ argument that went a little too far.”

George Galloway Denies Secret Conversion To Islam

Respect's George Galloway today denied claims he had converted to Islam at a secret ceremony more than a decade ago.

The maverick MP took part in the "shahadah" conversion ceremony, attended by members of the Muslim Association of Great Britain, at a hotel in Kilburn, London, it was reported today.

Jemima Khan, who converted to Islam ahead of her marriage to cricketer Imran Khan, claimed in an article for the New Statesman she knew someone who had attended the event.

But the Bradford West MP, who has repeatedly refused to answer questions about his faith, dismissed it as "totally untrue".
