AGAINST ALL ODDS This week’s shopping task is going to be left to chance. All the housemates can do is to try and tip the odds in their favour. A large Randomizer style machine will be placed in the living room. At the start of the task Big Brother explains that the Randomizer machine currently contains one green ball saying ‘PASS’ and another red ball saying ‘FAIL’. In two days’ time, in a dramatic final ceremony, one ball will be drawn from the Randomizer style machine to decide whether or not the housemates have passed the shopping task. As it stands, the housemates have a 50/50 chance of passing. However, over the next two days Big Brother will give the housemates the opportunity to tip the odds in their favour by completing a number of challenges. In these challenges, housemates should attempt to win as many green ‘PASS’ balls as possible whilst avoiding earning red ‘FAIL’ balls. At the end of the task, if a green ball is randomly selected they will pass their shopping task and win a luxury budget. If a red ball is picked, they will fail and receive an economy shopping delivery. DAY ONE Pass the Pass All the housemates are seated in a long line at a table in Big Brother’s Bistro. Housemates will be served a number of courses. The object of the game is to pass each item from one housemate to the next, using only their mouths. In front of each housemate is a large plate. Each plate is red and marked with an increasing number of fails – 1 FAIL, 2 FAILS, 3 FAILS etc. The housemate on the far right also sits behind a plate, but theirs is green and labelled 12 PASSES. If a housemate spits out or drops an item they will receive the number of fails stated on their plate. However, if the object makes it to the final plate, they will win twelve passes. Hot Chocolate One housemate is called to the Diary Room. In front of them is a box of chocolates. Three of the chocolates are normal chocolates – but the remainder of them have been infused with scotch bonnet chillies making them hot chocolates. The housemate must eat the chocolates, attempting to find the normal chocs. For each hot chocolate they eat they will receive one fail, but if they find all three normal ones they will win twenty passes. Kissing Balls In this task, a succession of small ping pong balls will be suspended by a jet of air, so that they are floating above a red table. The object of the game is for housemates, in pairs, to capture the ball between their lips and between them transport the ball to the green cylinder on the table. Each ball successfully transferred to the green cylinder will earn them a pass. Each ball dropped will earn a fail. Punishing Passes Claire is set a challenge where she must spend as much time as possible in the small task room. What she does not realise until she enters the room is that Steps’ top selling hit “5,6,7,8” will incessantly play on loop. The longer she stays in there, the more passes she will amass for the group. Her fellow housemates will be given an opportunity to release her sporadically throughout the night – and she will win the number of passes she has won so far. She also has the option to release herself at any time – but if she chooses to do so, all those passes will turn to fails. |

Day 5 round-up: Rise to the challenge Photo Today had a very Mission Impossible vibe, with tasks-a-plenty to keep those housemates on their toes. Just the way we like ‘em. Big Brother kicked off the day with the first shopping task. Challenge one was a wonderfully aesthetically pleasing game we like to call Pass the Pass. In essence, the game mostly involved passing various weird and wonderful foodstuffs from one housemates’ mouth to another. Delicacies included raw fish, nothing wrong with that, we love a bit of sushi, but a bull’s ***** – perhaps not. The fun and games did not end there, and Big Brother couldn’t resist putting some more amusing items in our celebrities’ mouths. Big Brother appointed Rylan the official ‘hot’ chocolate taster, summoning him into the Diary Room to delve into a selection of chocolatey treats. But this was not an innocent leftover from a Christmas selection box, as half of Rylan’s confectionaries were chilli flavoured. In the end Rylan coped with BB turning up the heat, and emerged victorious. The celebrities had one more task in store for them in the evening, a new game called Kissing Balls, involving the antics of a container full of unruly floating ping pong balls. Very Quidditch, indeed. As the housemates began winding down, with Ryan delivering some hilarious helium impressions in the bedroom, and Tricia igniting the House in a Chicago singalong, BB wasn’t quite done yet, pulling Claire into the final part of the shopping task. She was stuck in a room listening to 5, 6, 7, 8 on loop. Sounds like heaven, but maybe not after the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th time. But BB hadn't quite tired the housemates out, with Rylan, Claire, Ryan, Gillian, Lacey and Tricia having a bit of a post 1am secret knees up in the igloo after a hard day's work. What will BB will have in store for our housemates tomorrow... |

AGAINST ALL ODDS PTII & III This week’s shopping task is going to be left to chance. All the housemates can do is to try and tip the odds in their favour. A large Randomizer style machine will be placed in the living room. At the start of the task Big Brother explains that the Randomizer machine currently contains one green ball saying ‘PASS’ and another red ball saying ‘FAIL’. Rylan has completed Hot Chocolate, the second part of this week’s ‘Against The Odds’ shopping task. Rylan consumed 4 hot chocolates and therefore received 4 FAIL balls. However, he successfully found the 3 normal chocolates and therefore received 20 PASS balls Housemates have now completed Kissing Balls and Punishing Passes, the third and fourth part of this week’s shopping task ‘Against The Odds’ KISSING BALLS Housemates transferred 80 balls into the pass cylinder winning themselves 80 green pass balls. However, housemates also accumulated 20 fail balls. Heidi and Spencer also incurred a further 20 fails as a penalty for not taking part in the game. Therefore in total housemates won 80 green pass balls and 40 red fail balls. PUNISHING PASSES Housemates let Claire out of the Small Task Room after roughly one hour accumulating a total of 4 green pass balls. Had they left her in there for the whole task she could have won 100. After today’s tasks IN TOTAL Housemates have won: 176 Green pass balls 59 Red fail balls Against The Odds will continue today.... |

AGAINST ALL ODDS PT4 True or Falls Two Housemates will play this game from the diary room, with all other housemates in the garden. In the garden, housemates will take it on turns to sit on a chair suspended high above a gunge tank. The housemates in the diary room will be given multiple choice questions about the housemate in the chair – two are false and one is true. They must work out which is the correct, or ‘true’ answer, and pull the corresponding lever. If they are right, nothing will happen. However, if they pull a ‘false’ lever, the housemate in the garden will be dropped into the pit of gunge. Housemates will win passes for each Housemate saved, and fails for each Housemate gunged. Finale At the end of the task, one housemate will be asked to press a button and the machine will select one ball. If the ball is green, they will pass the shopping task – but if it is red, they will fail. |
