Worried EastEnders bosses are planning to slash the number of episodes a week in a bid to save the ailing soap.

They hope that axing one or even two shows might revive its fortunes. The soap has been shown four times a week for the last three years, but now directors want quality, not quantity.

A source told the Daily Star: “Cutting one or possibly even two episodes isn’t about saving money – with ratings slumping to just over six million it is apparent that viewers are beginning to suffer EastEnders fatigue.


“Maybe now is the time to go for quality rather than quantity.”

Last month EastEnders boss Louise Berridge sensationally quit after viewing figures dropped to their lowest for 19 years.

I hardly watch it now. I tuned in for a while last night and it was a cringingly bad performance from Alfie Moon about how he is funny :-? But it's been so long since I saw it I don't know whaer Kat has gone anyway or why.
