Ricky Gervais' new comedy, did anyone see it? I was a bit disappointed by the first episode last night, some funny bits (I loved the Japanese Cinema bit especially) but not up to The Office standard. Hopefully it steps up a gear next week

As with anything you have to give it a chance. By the 3rd or 4th I think you can tell if it's a good'un

Good point I'm giving it a chance, some of the best comedies are the growers.

I quite liked it,Gervais' shows have an hypnotic quality.....

ross kemp overacted, as did winslet.

but the les dennis episode was class

First episode was a slow burner, but its been a great series. I spend most of each show just cringing and refusing to watch.

you sit there watching and thinking to yourself "please don't say it" and then wallop...straight in there, Maggie is brilliant aswell
