A Gulf Emirate's debut at the World Schools Debating championship sounds - at best - esoteric. But it's easy to get caught up in Ayesha, Fatima, Tina, Vartan and Talal's enthusiasm as they struggle with the arcane tactics of British parliamentary discourse and deep-rooted beliefs. Coach Alex, an Oxford graduate, devises a whistlestop tour of London (protesters at Parliament Square are a hit; the gay pride parade, less so), before taking them and his stash of lucky socks to New York and Washington for round one. That's if they make it past airport security.
