Liz Smith's Summer Cruise

On a trip from Croatia to Venice (her first by boat since 1942), the 87-year-old appears isolated while remaining beloved by the passengers, insisting that it's Nana people are interested in rather than her. A wary traveller, Smith is still excellent company: just witness the sly look she gives to camera when asserting her independence after being offered a man's guiding arm.
