Jade Ewen was in a failed girl-band, Trinity
Stone, before representing UK at Eurovision,
with a middle-of-the-road Lloyd-Webber
number. Despite that, Geffen Records signed
her up to do a sub-Beyonce r'n'b album.
A whole lot of cash was spunked on the
project - the album was recorded and the Outside
Organisation, who once represented the Spice
Girls, were signed up to publicise it.
"Jade embodies the current mood in music -
credible cool with a mainstream twist" they
claimed. By the time the first single entered
the chart last week at number 30, it must have
been painfully obvious that this was not
the general consensus.

With solo career put on hold, Jade joined
the Sugababes. A nice solution for all
concerned. Then again, we have to agree with
Mutya, "Personally, I just don't think the
Sugababes is the Sugababes anymore".
Rare indeed is the band that can survive a full
personnel change and live to tell the tale. The
only other band we can find to have done it?
Grindcore pioneers Napalm Death.

............I'm a girly girl, very feminine. I'd never wear anything gothic or grungey. I like the clothes today. They're edgy, I've never been brave enough to wear things like this so it's nice to test the waters.

I never wear flat shoes, God no. I'm always in heels, even around the house. I only own one pair of flats. I sang at Wembley for the Charity Shield and you're not allowed to wear heels on the pitch, so I got me some sparkly diamante flip-flops.

I used to be a huge high street lover, but now Dolce & Gabbana send me free clothes and Guiseppe Zanotti sends me shoes. I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I don't see the point in shopping any more. I got given a pair of thigh-high leather boots by Guiseppe that I believe were worth around s4,000. I treat them as though I'm walking on gold dust.

Shoes are my main problem. I own hundreds of pairs. They're all in my bedroom at my parent's house. I'm more of a legs girl than a boobs girl. I had to wear tiny leather hot pants, a vest and braces for my video and they had to be careful with the angles or you could see everything. But you'd never get me going out wearing a belt around my boobs......
