Seven Days in Traffic

Here's an ambitious attempt to capture the collective experience of driving in London over a week last summer. It pieces together a picture from dozens of personal experiences: "Hell on Earth," sighs one dad as he drives his son to nursery - a journey that takes him an hour and a half. "Oh bendy bus, come on!" yells an ambulance driver rushing to a call-out at a Tube station. "That's all I need," growls a paparazzo in Soho as someone hits his rear bumper. Watching others go through a daily grind most of us would dearly love to avoid might not sound much fun, but at times the film feels oddly therapeutic. And there are poignant stories, too, such as the tale of a woman travelling to hospital to donate a kidney to her two-year-old grandson.
