Sport Relief 2010
BBC1, Friday 19 March 7:00pm - 10:00pm We've reached the sparkling climax of Sport Relief and it should make for a heck of a night. You get the feeling someone behind the scenes had an enjoyable game of TV consequences, tearing celebs from their comfort zones and planting them where you'd least expect. "How about Match of the Day does Masterchef?" they cried. So Gary Lineker, Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson try their hands at competitive cooking. "How about Dragons' Den does Strictly?" Yes, Duncan Bannatyne and Peter Jones take to the dancefloor. "How about The Choir's Gareth Malone gets a bunch of sporting heroes to sing together? How about Ashes to Ashes starring Michael Parkinson?" And so on. In among the surreal skits will be updates on the sporting challenges taken up by celebs, from Christine Bleakley waterskiing the channel to Eddie Izzard's staggering 43 marathons in 51 days. And of course some powerfully moving appeal films will be aired to remind us of the point of the whole thing - to dig deep and see if we can collectively put the funds raised well over the 20 million pounds mark.
