Still Folk Dancing After All These Years
BBC4, 9:00pm - 10:00pm Friday 10 December Northumbrian singers and clog dancers Rachel and Becky Unthank celebrate folk dancing traditions in this hugely enjoyable documentary. It simply follows the sisters dropping in on local events and talking to the dancers. From the Saddleworth Morris Men with their rush cart near Manchester to the 20-year-old Golowan midsummer festival in Penzance, it's mostly a story of revivals that give men a chance to get together. All filmed over the summer, it's a cheerful outing, with the Unthanks clearly enjoying themselves and the beery culture of the English regions.
