My Big Fat Royal Gypsy Wedding
Ch4, Thursday 28 April 9:00pm - 10:00pm Can you see what Channel 4 has done here? Taken its runaway hit series Big Fat Gypsy Weddings and added "Royal" to the title because it's the royal wedding tomorrow. So it's a Big Fat Piece of Scheduling Opportunism, which is clever, particularly when you consider C4 is opting out of all things Kate and William and leaving coverage of THE wedding to other broadcasters. But no one can blame them for seizing such a heaven-sent opportunity/ excuse to hitch up to yet another caravan to bring us a new helping of gigantic dresses, nightmarishly huge cakes and a riot of pink. Details were sketchy as the programme was still in its early stages as we went to press. But the production team has been charged with finding the biggest, fattest gypsy wedding of the year for the most epic of celebrations.
