Repeat Today ITV1 +1, UTV1 +1 9pm
Repeat ITV2 Sat 25 Feb 4:50pm At last year’s Brit Awards, Adele held the audience at the O2 Arena in the palm of her well-manicured hand as she belted out that elegy for a broken love, Someone like You.
It was a defining moment for a tough, clever and explosively talented young woman. After a few worrying months of illness, Adele returns to the ceremony as both a performer and a nominee (British female solo artist; British single for Someone like You; British album for 21).
Possibly the only thing standing in Adele’s way is her ubiquity; Someone like You has replaced Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars as the track of choice when a TV show wants to score a sad bit. Or maybe the judges will surprise us by taking to their hearts PJ Harvey’s fiery anti-war album Let England Shake.
James Corden is back as host, introducing performances from Rihanna, Coldplay, Florence and the Machine and Noel Gallagher.
