There's a squad of folk in some government department somewhere earning a small fortune and costing another deciding on the dates...

Haven't looked back I'm afraid - have we had the anti-semitic discussion about the film on here? Sorry to start something off again if it's been laid to rest.

Obo- I have heard it has something to do with the timings of the moon, in line with the Jewish customs of the pass-over. Having not looked into it in further detail, do not want to say this for definite. I am going to a weekend course of the Jewish festivals soon, so will let you know more then. Hope that helps. ()^

Cameron- There has been some view-points on it....but no major discussion. Why? What are your views? Have you seen the film yet?

Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal (Spring) Equinox.

Originally, it had something to do with needing a full moon to travel through the night.

Hi Obo.

Again, having not looked into it too much (for the time being). I am led to believe that Christmas day is based on a Pagan worship day of light. Since it falls a few days after the shortest day of the year, the festival is celebrating the turning of the days (getting lighter, as opposed to getting darker). Since Christians believe that Jesus is the 'light of the world', I'm guessing that they adopted this day 'in light' of that (oh dear bad joke!!).

:) I am glad too that you (and us all) are able to celebrate Christmas and Easter. ()^

Yes I saw it last week in Aberdeen. My view is that it depicts man's inhumanity to man. People can read a lot of different things into it, but I think that is the bottom line.

That is very true. Some believe he was probably born around the Easter time. Very confusing!

Always interested in increasing my general knowledge. Never know there might be a pub question somewhere on the functioning of a lighthouse.
