Winslet to star in Woody's UK film
Kate Winslet is to star in Woody Allen's first British film.
She will appear alongside fellow Brits Emily Mortimer and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
Details of the as-yet-untitled £8.5m production are shrouded in secrecy but it is believed to be set in London's high society.
Filmed on location in London, it will be the first time in Allen's 33-year-career that he has made a movie set entirely outside New York.
"I have a great admiration for English actors and actresses and have used them at every opportunity over the years, but now I won't have to import them to New York," Allen told Variety magazine.
"My family and I love the idea of spending the summer in London.
"I only hope I can live up to the high standards of British movies I grew up with."
The writer and director has used several British stars in past films, including Michael Caine, Tracey Ullman, Samantha Morton and Helena Bonham Carter.
The film - known as the Woody Allen Summer Project - will shoot in London during July and August.
