Just curious, does anyone use http://www.musicmobs.com at all?

If so, wouldn't mind seeing your page, interested in other's tastes and all that.

For those that don't know, its basically a website which you upload your itunes music library (windows media player and winamp will also work) and then the site finds other users with similiar tastes to yours, and from that, you get to discover new music which you might like! But, even if you can't upload your music library or don't use a computer/iPod to listen to music you can put in a simple search term such as 'Radiohead' and go on a trail of musical discovery .

I must confess my page is rather embarassing http://www.musicmobs.com/user.php?userId=4219 since a reformat my music library has been somewhat lacking .

Thanks egor...I just checked out your library and have now downloaded Highway Star by Deep Purple Haven't heard it since I was about 14/15 and had forgotten all about it. Still remember all the words!

With regards to the Smashing Pumpkins, Darcy is most fit. Oh and they make pretty good music too .

I haven't got a full REM album, at the moment I've got a few bad quality mp3s on my hardrive , I hope to rectify that soon. Thinking of getting 'made of stone' somepoint soon.

I find the best use of musicmobs though is simply typing a band you like into the search field and finding what other fans like, that way.

i would join musicmobs but i dont have an ipod and i dont download music anymore because i once had 1000 mp3s and they all got deleted when my PC crashed one day! scarred me for life...

OUCH! Similiar thing happened to me, except I had to reformat when changing a motherboard, and I'd been swapping between two of them so much that I just couldn't be arsed to swap back once more to back up my music (cos I kept forgetting things to back up and so went back and forth between the two).

You don't need an iPod though, you just have to use your computer to listen to music alot , so, yeah, an iPod would help, but not necesary.

i never listen to music on here anymore. are there any free download sites left?

I use soulseek ( http://www.slsknet.org ) to download everything.

I don't really know much about computers, but yes, I can be rather geeky at the best of times, I'm sure one day it'll be cool!
