The people of London will have their own TV station. London TV starts broadcasting on Sky channel 166 from 12th July 2004.

London will be the first city in the world to have its own TV station. It will broadcast 24 hours a day and promote the capital's arts and entertainment scene to inspire londoners to explore their own city.

What happened to LWT then?

I somehow doubt the claims that it's the first city in the world to have its own TV channel. When channels start appearing willy-nilly on Sky anyway it hardly counts.

London TV went on air today. You can tune in on Ch 244 the station will broadcast 24 hours a day and promote the capital's arts and entertainment scene to inspire londoners to explore their own city.
