Stuff they show on the news is generally toned down, stuff in the film was not.
Also they showed exactly what the American marines think of the Iraqi's (i.e not much)

I think we all knew what american marines think of iraqis from newspapers (prior to the torture coming out), the news (I've seen alot of footage where they simply didn't give a **** about the Iraqis, I don't know what news you watch...) and most importantly, documentaries by people like that Langhan fellow.

I think Michael Moore, like most people, gets angry and frustrated about things, but he makes good points. I thought it was brilliant when he tried to get the Senetor guys to sign their kids up to go to war. As for Blair, we should have strung him up and beat him with sticks long ago.

I wouldn't show my kids the film at an early age, maybe about 15. However in/accurate the documentary is, I think it shows how it all happened just by showing how dim Bush is. Fact is that we all already knew he ignored threats about September 11th and that he went to war for selfish reasons, and lied to people to scare them into going with him.

No everyone wants to be hugged when that kind of thing happens. It's a bit intrusive.

He didn't know she was going to vreak down, and it's not like he filmed her for half an hour. He filmed enough to show the pain she was in. Maybe he hugged her after, we don't know.

On the one hand you're right there, he probably felt like David Brent when he made a practical 'joke' on Dawn, pretending she'd been fired for stealing sticky notes, or he just felt generally awkward.

On the other hand, I would not (NOT) want a hug from that guy, I wouldn't want hugs from just about everyone I know (in spite of loving them). I think Michael Moore probably didn't know how to react.

::lol::

I'm fat, I'm fat!

Nah, I love hugging, and cuddling, don't have anyone who wants to do that with me, but still! I just don't like hugging people I don't know or who I am uncomfortable with.

I'd cuddle him. He's cute.

I think also that the women felt some guilt, and when you feel like that you don't feel that you should have sympathy.

Moore embarrasses new CIA chief

President Bush said Mr Goss was the "right man" for the job
US Congressman Porter Goss, nominated to be the new director of the CIA, may be talking himself out of the job, according to film-maker Michael Moore.
Moore, who directed the film Fahrenheit 9/11, has released an interview with Mr Goss in which he says he lacks the qualifications for the top spy post.

"I couldn't get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified," Mr Goss told Moore's production company in March.

The White House has dismissed the interview as "ridiculous hearsay".

The interview did not make it into the final edit of the film, which criticises President George W Bush's policy on Iraq.

But following Mr Goss's nomination by the president, Moore has released the transcript and video excerpt on his website.

"I don't have the language skills. I, you know, my language skills were romance languages and stuff. We're looking for Arabists today. I don't have the cultural background probably," Mr Goss says on the video.

"And I certainly don't have the technical skills, as my children remind me every day: 'Dad, you got to get better on your computer.'

"So, the things that you need to have, I don't have."

Bush's choice

Mr Goss, 65, is a former officer with US army intelligence and the CIA.

He represents a Florida district and has served in Congress since 1989.

Announcing the appointment on Tuesday, Mr Bush said Mr Goss was the "right man" to head the agency.

"Porter Goss is a leader with strong experience in intelligence and in fighting against terrorism," he said.

Mr Goss is due to replace former director George Tenet, who stood down, citing personal reasons, before the commission investigating the 11 September 2001 attacks issued its report.

The bi-partisan panel blamed intelligence bodies, including the CIA, for failing to predict or avert the hijackings.

i know what you mean. it made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but it did make the moment more poignant (i think that's the word). she probably asked him to let her cry like that because it shows how much pain she (and all the other families) are going through.
