Tom Cruise Gives Parky Exculsive Interview

Michael Parkinson has landed Hollywood star Tom Cruise to kick off his new TV chat show next month.

The TV host, who defected from BBC to ITV1, has managed to secure the first ever full British television interview with the actor.

Cruise is notoriously shy about his private life, but Parky has told producers he aims to get rid of his image as Mr Nice Guy.

Parky intends to put his soft touch interview techniques on the back burner and give the American star an uncharacteristic grilling, reports the Daily Mirror.

"He wants to show he's the best in the game and give two fingers to anyone who says he's just there to give the stars an easy ride," said a studio source.

Cruise is expected to be questioned about his divorce from Nicole Kidman, the recent break-up of his relationship with actress Penelope Cruz and his alleged interest in wrestling.

Actor Denzel Washington and entertainers Ant and Dec are among other guests lined up for the chat show.
