Well, what can I say?
Madonna was amazing on Thursday night.
Highlights (aside from the entire show) for me were THE BEAST WITHIN (what an incredble, atmospheric way to open the show) AMERICAN LIFE (rawking), BURNING UP (loadsa guitars), LAMENT (amazing vocals), LIKE A PRAYER (everyone on their feet singing along - incredible), MOTHER AND FATHER (her voice was amazing during this too), and PAPA DON'T PREACH (brilliant choreography, with Madonna playing ring-a-roses with her dancers!!).
The gig has to be seen (and heard) to be believed, so much happens visually that it's hard to take it all in. There were two huge video screens that slid apart to reveal more video screens, and through the show these move over each other, flashing up many different pictures and imagery.
Probably the best LOOKING concert I've ever been to, BUT musically it was great too. Even when Madonna was just onstage with her guitar (Imagine, Nothing Fails) it was excellent.
The atmosphere with the crowd was brilliant too. Loads of Mexican waves etc. Met some really friendly Madonna fans too.
True to form - yesterday I missed check in for my flight home. Had to transfer onto a flight two hours later and then that was delayed for nearly another three hours. Got back last night just a wee bit later than we expected to.
Worth all the hassle tho, definitely!
Madonna rools!
