Sir Elton John has vowed to marry long-term lover David Furnish - as soon as the law changes in Britain.
The Rocket man told US talk show host Larry King he wants to make sure David inherits his millions when he dies.
"David and I have been together for 11 years," said Elt, 57.
"We should have the same rights to commit to and protect each other in our relationship as heterosexual and married people."
But despite gay marriage laws being relaxed in some areas of the world, Elton is adamant they will only do it in his home country.
He added: "I am waiting for it to happen in Britain. There is a civil union coming which will allow us to go to a register office and protect each other.
"For example, if I die and leave my money to David, my family can contest that."
