[Entertainment News]: David Beckham has been booted to the top ranks of a list of the most irritating celebrities.

The England captain has been voted into the survey just under X Factor judge Simon Cowell and Big Brother's John McCririck.

The nationwide poll for Columbia Tristar asked 1,000 people which celebrity they found most enraging and wanted to see punished.

Cowell, the music mogul behind Robson and Jerome, Five and Il Divo, came top of the list with 21% - the public want him punished for the bands he has launched.

Racing pundit McCririck is second with 18%, for being irritating in the Big Brother house, followed by Beckham with 14%, for his Euro 2004 penalty misses.

Stan Collymore is fourth, for punching his then girlfriend Ulrika Jonsson.

Prince Harry is fifth for wearing a Nazi uniform at a fancy dress party, followed by Big Brother presenter Davina McCall, for her contribution to the reality TV craze.

Darren Day is seventh for his reputation with women, followed by Prime Minister Tony Blair, "for the bad decisions he has made".

Victoria Beckham (for being such a self-publicist) and Charlie Simpson (for splitting up Busted) both drew ninth place, in the poll by research body Consumer Analysis Group (CAG).

A CAG spokesman said: "What's interesting is that the top 10 is dominated by celebrities involved in reality TV.

"It's not just those appearing on the shows, like John McCririck and Darren Day on the list.

"The public now find the hosts, Simon Cowell and Davina McCall equally enraging. "Perhaps these survey results signal the start of a backlash against reality TV."

What a ridiculous list. Poor David Beckham and poor Davina. Who makes up a list like that, just to bring people down?

exactly, what is the point?

and also, who actually votes on these surveys? I have never been asked to fill one out and I don't think I know anyone who has either

they're usually conjured up by those saddos who write for entertainment columns in the tabloids. Scientists have proven there is a link between these columnists and incredibly small testicles.
