Kaplinsky wins big at TV awards

Kaplinsky has hosted Strictly Come Dancing and BBC Breakfast
TV host Natasha Kaplinsky was the toast of an industry ceremony on Tuesday when she was named newscaster of the year and two of her programmes won awards.
Strictly Come Dancing was named best TV entertainment programme and BBC Breakfast won best daytime show at the Tric Awards in London.
Coronation Street was named top soap, Little Britain won best comedy and Spooks took the drama award.
The winners were chosen by the Television and Radio Industries Club.
Ant and Dec shared the prize for best TV personality, while the equivalent honour for radio went to Jonathan Ross.

Other prizes went to pop star Jamelia, sports presenter John Inverdale and weather presenter Sian Lloyd.
BBC Radio 4's comedy show I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue was named best radio programme and Michael Palin's TV series Himalaya won best music and arts programme.
Kaplinsky, who joined the BBC from Sky News in 2002, beat her corporation colleagues Huw Edwards and George Alagiah to the title of best newscaster, describing it as a "huge honour".
"Despite all the sequins and other exciting things I have done this year, I'm so thrilled to still be considered a newscaster," she said.
