You don’t have to be young and beautiful to star in Footballer’s Wives. In fact the King and Queen of daytime telly, Richard and Judy, are currently in talks to appear in a major guest role on the ITV1 show, according to a story in today’s Sun newspaper.
And just how did this opportunity come about? Well, when they interviewed one of the show’s stars, Gillian Taylforth, they just happened to show her a spoof film clip of themselves pretending to be characters in the show.
The production team behind Footballer’s Wives (Shed Productions) then got in touch with Richard and Judy’s agents to ask them to take part.
A spokesman for Richard and Judy says: "We're in talks with Shed. Richard and Judy love the show and are really excited."
Shed said: "We have approached them and think they would be brilliant.
"We're thinking up ideas. We thought it would be great if one of the wives actually learned to read and she could take part in their book club."
Let’s hope that R’n’J can manage to stop bickering for long enough to say their lines!
