Muffin the Mule, that popular vintage schoolboy gag and occasional prison sentence, is returning to our screens.
...........................
What? What mule? What screens? Luckily, the Daily Mirror is on hand to fill us in.
Muffin the Mule was among the first-ever children's telly programmes on Beeb in the 40s and 50s, centering on the amusing exploits of a wooden donkey puppet.
Yes, amusing. Stick with us, we can tell you're glazing over already.
Obviously, on its telly return as a cartoon, the tired old wooden nag has been updated considerably for the three-second attention spans of the ASBO-PS2 generation.
The Mirror adds that Muffin's old muckers will be back in the new kids' series, including the dubious-sounding Willie The Worm, while a range of merchandising is in the pipeline.
"Have you been Muffin the Mule?" t-shirts will not be among the range, we'd wager.
