The Hospital
Ch4 - 1/5 9:00pm - 10:00pm Monday 26 July Can the NHS cope with modern Britain? That's the gist of this sharp, uncomfortable series, returning for a second run after terrifying viewers first time round. It focuses on young people and how their "lifestyle choices" (a dainty phrase for not-very-dainty things) weigh heavily on the health service. We start at a sexual health clinic in London, where forbearing doctors treat youngsters whose attitudes to their own health will baffle and shock. "It's a right of passage," says one patient of chlamydia. "If you haven't had it, you're boring." It's a painfully unflattering portrait of UK teens - or at least (and it's worth reminding yourself of this) one segment of them.
