Come Dine with Me: Big Brother Winners
Channel 4, Monday 06 September 8:00pm - 9:00pm This isn't just car-crash telly, this is motorway pile-up telly. Four Big Brother winners (two Brians, one Nadia and a Sophie) go through the ritual of cooking dinner for each other to win money for charity. Although really it's about them getting one more minute of fame. I'm not sure which is worse: their revolting cooking or their emptyheaded conversation. "Do potatoes come from trees or the ground?" asks Sophie Reade, who's famous for her baps - and not the ones she serves with the hamburgers. "Shepherd's pie's all right if the pastry on the top isn't too thick," says Brian Belo. There's a clue to the tone of this programme in that sentence, although at least Brian Dowling has a few brain cells that work. If you needed persuading that Channel 4 was right to cancel Big Brother, this is it.
