Battle of Arnhem: Tour of Duty 1/2


Channel 5, Wednesday 10 November 8:00pm - 9:00pm


The first of a two-part documentary asking how 10 modern-day teenagers would cope with life on the front line of a Second World War battle. Following intensive training to re-create the 1944 parachute assault in Holland, the youngsters are dropped out of a plane at 10,000ft over the fields of Arnhem for their demanding mission. Concludes tomorrow.

What a great experience for the young men, a lovely programme and educational too. One of the veterans interviewed has recently published his autobiography, DROPPED IN IT by Colin Hall on Amazon as ebook, out in paperback in 1 or 2 weeks.

I wish we saw a programme were our politicians were also watching the progammes and heard them comment on how they were going to work hard at not letting such horror happen again, and again.
