60 Minute Makeover Is Back
60 Minute Makeover returns to ITV1 for its eighth series, on March 28, with a new presenter- Catherine Gee.
Gee, who has presented hit shows Escape to the Country and Through the Keyhole, joins the 60 Minute Makeover team for a series of surprise home makeovers across the country. On the show she will work with an array of key designers including John Amabile, Linda Barker, Derek Taylor, Ann Hazell and Sophie Robinson.
Every day the team descend on a property where one or all of the homeowners will know nothing about the imminent makeover until it’s finished. They will go out for the day with a family member or friend who is in the know, while their house is restyled by Gee and the team of experts.
In just 60 minutes, the team will give the house a makeover, giving viewers plenty of tips and practical advice along the way. The designers, using only information given to them by the homeowners’ friends and family, must design the perfect home for people they have never met before.
Then Gee and the team face the reaction of the homeowner when they return from their day out, to find their house isn’t the same as the one they left that morning.
Catherine Gee said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be involved in the new series and it’s given me the chance to brush up on my DIY skills! Everyone on the team works flat-out to produce an amazing makeover in only 60 minutes, but it’s totally worth it when you see the surprised reactions on the show. There are also great ideas that viewers can take away from the programme and easily try at home.”
