The Choir That Rocks
ITV1 London, 16th June 9:00pm - 10:00pm
1/3
When you first watch Rock Choir's founder Caroline Redman Lusher lead her trilling, swaying troupe, you're reminded of those vast churches in America where it's quite normal for the congregation to weep frantically and talk in tongues. But this is an entirely secular group strangling, sorry, singing pop songs. Still, the religious fervour emanating from the mass of warblers is a bit eerie. And Caroline is perhaps a little too controlling, appointing all the new choir leaders and picking all the songs herself. She's a failed pop star on a mission. But halfway through this fly-on-the-wall, which sees Caroline attempt to grow Rock Choir and fill Wembley Arena with every UK member, I stopped sneering. And by the time the original choir, from Farnham, journeyed to York to do a flash mob, I was a new convert to the show, Caroline and the concept.
