Braquo FX, Sunday, 10pm - 11pm
Repeat Today 11pm Repeat Tomorrow 11pm Are you looking for a Sunday-night drama brimming with the milk of human kindness, something to put a spring in your step for the week ahead? Then get right away from this. If, however, you like your crime dramas gritty and Gallic, pull up a chair. The opening episode of this compellingly bleak policier reveals the ties that bind members of a Paris team of detectives (with Betty Blue’s Jean Hugues-Anglade at the centre), and the events that threaten to snip those ties.
It was created by former cop Olivier Marchal and based on his knowledge of the beat – a sobering thought considering the moral cavity his characters inhabit. Braquo is the tense, hard-edged blood brother of Spiral and The Shield, and drew such impressive ratings in France that a second series was commissioned à toute vitesse.
About this programme1/8. French police thriller starring Jean-Hugues Anglade as Eddie Caplan, the captain of a team of Parisian cops with a brutal approach to the pursuit of law and order. Eddie's squad leader is placed in the custody of IGS after he is accused of corruption.
