Presenter Simon Mayo revealed today that he has already recorded 75 editions of Blockbusters for screening this spring on Challenge TV.

Mayo said the shows are recorded in batches of five and transmission will begin in May.

Blockbusters first broadcast in the UK on ITV in 1983 hosted by the late Bob Holness, where it ran for eleven years.

Mayo said that whenever a contestant says: "Can I Have a 'P' please," he is guaranteed a huge round of applause.

The new series features adults whereas the original concentrated on students.
