BBC2, BBC Two HD, Sunday 11th May 9:30pm - 10:30pm
Repeat:BBC2 (not Northern Ireland), BBC Two HD 11:20pmTue 14 MayWhen Richard Feynman was ten he had his own science laboratory at home. He went on to shape modern quantum physics, win the Nobel Prize and tell the world why the space shuttle Challenger blew up shortly after take-off.
This inspiring film, embellished by Feynman’s writings and drawings, tells of a full and amazing life, even though it was cut short by cancer in 1988. And one that embraced both joy (his love of science shines through in interviews) and pain (his first wife dying from TB at 25, the anguish from helping to develop the A-bomb).
A profile of American physicist Richard Feynman, featuring interviews with the man himself as well as his friends, colleagues and family. Feynman was part of the team that designed the atomic bomb, helped to solve the mystery of the Challenger space shuttle catastrophe and won a Nobel Prize for his work in quantum electrodynamics, and is seen as one of the most influential and inspiring scientists of the 20th century.
