Children in Need Rocks BBC One HD, BBC One: Today 8pm - 10pm
Two nights’ worth of charitable rocking is combined into one bumper programme in aid of BBC Children in Need. Gary Barlow has put together the line-ups for the concerts at the Apollo in Hammersmith, with Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton hosting a gathering of performers that’s the epitome of “something for everyone”.
Robbie Williams and Barry Manilow have got mass swaying covered, Dizzee Rascal and Rizzle Kicks are on urban youth duty, and Little Mix represent the talent-show massive. Alongside, Ellie Goulding will perform this year’s Children in Need single, a cover of The Waterboys’ How Long Will I Love You, and Kings of Leon are other confirmed guests. With two Take Thatters already on the premises, some will be hoping for Orange, Donald and Owen.
About this programme
Charity concert led by Gary Barlow, who has brought together a stellar line-up of musical talent including his old Take That mate Robbie Williams and fellow X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger. The US is well represented by Kings of Leon and veteran showman Barry Manilow, while the rest reads like a who's who of the British charts - Ellie Goulding, Dizzee Rascal, Tom Odell, Rizzle Kicks, Bastille, the Lumineers, Passenger, the Wanted and Little Mix - all doing their bit for Pudsey. Hosted by Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton from the Apollo in Hammersmith, London.
