Wimbledon champion Andy Murray wins BBC Sports Personality of the Year
Tennis hero Andy Murray was tonight crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The 26-year-old, who ended Britain's 77-year wait for a men's singles champion at Wimbledon this year, was handed the trophy by former tennis star Martina Navratilova after topping the public vote.
Appearing at the ceremony in Leeds via videolink from a training camp in Miami, he said: 'I know I'm sometimes not the easiest person to support, but I've had a lot of pressure on me for a long time.
