Friday July 4th: BBC News reported that a 'suspect package' had been found at the Elstree studio's where Big Brother is located. The package was located within the Elstree compound, near the George Lucas stage where Davina interviews the evicted housemate. Security cleared the area and C4 had hoped to get a show out on C4 at 10pm. However... Channel 4 announced that the eviction night has been postponed and will now take place from 9pm on Saturday! Phone lines remain OPEN for voting too...

Day 43, 21:00 - Due to a security alert Big Brother has been postponed. All housemates are safe and sound...
Reports suggest that the housemates have been evacuated (NOT evicted!) to a safe part of the Elstree complex and will only return when it is safe to do so. Security report that some explosive material has been found and the area was cleared as a precaution.
I'm keeping an eye on the 'live feed' over the 'net and there was nobody in the house - the garden was in darkness although the house lights were still on. Update - 11:40pm - the garden lights are on but no sign of anyone in the house! 11:50 - Police have been seen in the garden... Through midnight and production staff have been seen checking the garden and house over. Other reports suggest that the HM's have been taken away from Elstree for the night.
11pm: Update from (and credit to) DS: Someone local to Elstree has been down to see what the fuss was, with his video camera. The whole area has been evacuated, including the local Tesco! 2 bomb disposal vans in the complex and everyone told to stay outside the cordon. This item has been updated several times during Friday night. As at 12:30am there's little happening in the house and BBC News report a 'false alarm'... 01:05am - The housemates return to the house ! Should be able to watch them on usual streams now.
AND - BBFans gets a serious overload as 427 users are recorded at one time (8:52pm, Friday 4th July 2003) and many other websites, including the main C4 site, are falling over trying to cope with the extra strain!
