Welsh language television channel S4C is said to be planning a Welsh version of Celebrity Big Brother.

Some of Wales' best-known celebrities are reportedly being lined up to spend two weeks in a remote cottage in North Wales.

The contestants in the show will spend their time getting to grips with the Welsh language.

Among those being tipped to take part are Ruth Madoc star of comedy classic Hi-de-Hi! and Steps singer Faye Tozer.

Producers of the show have also approached singer Charlotte Church and her ex-boyfriend Steven Johnson.

A spokesman for Welsh Big Brother told The Sun: "The celebrities will be filmed living under the same roof - but they will be there to learn Welsh."

Cardiff-based S4C plan to screen the show later in the year.

Well done to all who took part. Steve Strange was a guest presenter at the Salon 'Staff Awards' and Paul said to him when he was leaving: 'Kiss A** in the BB house' I thought he was talking about the British Celeb BB. It was obviously the Welsh language Celebrity Big Brother.
