While the majority of us observe how reality TV has started to eat itself, the head of Channel 4 declares Big Brother a ‘Christian parable for our times’.

According to the Times, Andy Duncan has gone all spiritual on us and claimed that the nauseating TV show was a ‘modern-day embodiment of biblical values’.
“Look beyond the shouting and swearing to the people themselves. There are positive values, transformatory experiences and examples of personal growth to be found. For the record, I am a practising Christian on what might be called the evangelical wing of the church,” said Duncan.
And no, this doesn’t appear to be a publicity stunt.
According top Duncan, “Big Brother winners are all role models in their way” and the public chose “people whose values they identify with and admire”.
But do you still ‘admire’ Kate Lawler, even after seeing her on Celebrity Wrestling?
The Times then compares some biblical verses with a few words of wisdom from past and present BB contestants.
Matthew 5:27-28 - “But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart”
Compared to Anthony BB6:26 - “Listen, lass, I find you attractive. I think you’re fit. You’re saying you like us and all that. In the outside world, I’d be on the case.”
And finally, Matthew 7:12 - “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”
Jade BB3:29 - “When it gets down to the final four, you have to stab people in the back.”
