The executive producer of the very first Big Brother has been appointed global head of programming at its parent company, Endemol.
Paul Romer oversaw the inaugural Big Brother in Holland in 1999 - a year before it first screened in the UK on Channel 4 - and went on to executive produce its debut in the US.
He was one of the key creative minds behind the development of the format, working alongside Endemol co-founder John de Mol, and will now lead and co-ordinate Dutch producers creative teams worldwide.
He is currently managing director of Endemol Netherlands and has been with Endemol in various roles for 12 years.
