Germaine Greer has admitted appearing in Celebrity Big Brother was a mistake. The five days in the house has shown Germaine that she is not
as worldly as the others and was naive not to realise that her fellow housemates would have agendas.
In her words:
"Caprice is here to raise awareness of her lingerie.
Brigitte is a professional reality TV person.
Kenzie wants to raise the profile of his band.
John probably needs the money"
"I'm 65 and you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I've made a mistake, it's called cutting your losses."
She told BB; "I don't need the money badly enough, the rainforest will be fine - I'll save it in other ways."
Her chosen charity was one dedicated to saving Britain's rarest slugs, snails and spiders. She took a spice box, earplugs and a sleep mask into the House.
Germaine had justified her taken part on the show saying it was " to strike a blow for the old ladies".
She has in the past made comments about reality tv. One of her most famous quotes:
"Watching reality TV was as dignified as looking through the keyhole in your teenage child's bedroom door".
