FOUR contestants have been taking part in a special version of Big Brother in a pub car park to raise money for charity.
Staff from the King William pub in Sandringham Road, St Albans, set up camp with just a flimsy plastic gazebo to protect them from the sunshine and showers.
Pub manager Ren Barnardo said: "The wind just goes straight through it. One day I heard them all screaming. I went out there and they were holding onto it for dear life."
Stella Waterson, Adam Schofield, Wayne Ackerman and Ed Walters decide to put themselves up for the Big-Brother-style challenge, called William is Watching You, and spend a week in a makeshift lounge with cameras watching their every move.
Highlights of the day's actions are shown at the pub at 8pm and the group are set tasks every day. Their performance in the task determines whether they are rewarded or punished.
They failed their first task and were forced to sweep the car park. They have also had to juggle eggs and do a 20-minute exercise routine. Ed became the first person to walk out of the house leaving three people to continue with the tasks.
The pub was raising money for the Grove House Hospice in St Albans and Ren said: "We wanted as many guests as possible to come into the pub and support the team and help us raise money for a good cause. And they also got the chance to nominate their least favourite team member to be shown the door."
The winning contestant received a prize when the competition ended on Sunday.
