A NEW head of the Edinburgh International Television Festival has been announced.
Tim Hincks, chief creative officer with
Big Brother makers Endemol, will take over after the 2006 event has taken place.
He will replace BSkyB's Dawn Airey, who is stepping down after five years.
Among Mr Hincks' other TV successes with Endemol have been Deal or No Deal, The Games, The Salon, Spoons, The Farm and The Match.
He said: "I was delighted and honoured to be asked by Dawn to carry on with the brilliant work she's done over the last five years.
"Dawn's inspiration and infectious enthusiasm have ensured Edinburgh is the number one event in the TV industry calendar. My aim is to keep it there."
This year's event will run from August 25 to 27.
