Applicants for the next series of Big Brother will be able to upload their audition videos to the internet, says Channel 4.

The broadcaster is to launch a special website for the clips, allowing the public to rate potential housemates.

Producers say that at least one user will become a contestant on the reality show's eighth series next year.

About 7.7m people watched 24-year-old Pete Bennett win this year's contest, taking home a £100,000 prize.

Prospective housemates will be able to upload their audition videos to E4.com when it relaunches early next year.

OK who fancies having a go at creating a video at the risk of making a fool of yourself.

My work colleagues say I should have a go.

The thing to remember is that there is a good chance what ever you do will get ripped to bits by your on-line viewers and you'll get to read every snide crude insulting comment they make of the video and I can tell you from experience that it's not a pleasant experience and you get very tempted to give back the at the same level you received it.
I doubt they'll much constructive criticism.

If you think you can handle it give it a go.

At present there aren't any details about the formats or the length of the video. It used to be 2 minutes but the later Diary-room sessions were reduced to 1 minute. And again from experience the Diary-room session isn't much fun unless you've rehearsed what you want to say because as in my case your brain suddenly forgets everything and like I did you stand a good chance of screwing it up.

Oh and I bet they under estimate the server demand and the whole thing crashes .
